The Uday (Ukrainian: Удай) is a river in Ukraine, a right tributary of the Sula, in the basin of Dnieper. It is 327 kilometres (203 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 7,030 square kilometres (2,710 sq mi).[1]

The Uday finds its source near the village of Rozhnivka in Pryluky Raion, Chernihiv Oblast. The river flows through the Dnieper Lowland, within the Chernihiv Oblast and the Poltava Oblast. It is predominantly fed by melting snow (nival regime). It freezes between November and early January, and it stays under the ice until March to mid April.[1] The average discharge of the Uday at 39 km from the mouth is 9.4 m³/s (330 cu ft/s).[1]

The towns of Pryluky and Pyriatyn lie on the Uday,[1] as well as the urban-type settlements of Dihtiari, Varva, Ladan, and the selo of Pisky-Udais'ki.

Der Udaj (ukrainisch Удай) ist ein rechter Nebenfluss der Sula mit einer Länge von 327 Kilometern. Der zum Flusssystem des Dneprs gehörende Fluss entwässert ein Gebiet von 7.030 km². Die Quelle des Udaj befindet sich in der zentralukrainischen Oblast Tschernihiw in der Nähe des Dorfes Rosnischky. Von dort fließt er in weiten Bögen in Richtung Südosten, wo er schließlich auf dem Gebiet der Oblast Poltawa etwa zehn Kilometer nordöstlich von Lubny in die Sula mündet. Der Höhenunterschied zwischen Quelle (ca. 134 m) und Mündung (87 m) beträgt lediglich knapp 50 Meter. Hierdurch weist der Fluss ein sehr geringes Gefälle und eine niedrige Fließgeschwindigkeit auf, was dazu führt, dass die Ufer teilweise stark versumpft sind.

Udaj (in ucraino Удай) è un fiume nel bassopiano di Prydniprov, affluente di destra del fiume Sula. La lunghezza del fiume è di 327 km, il bacino idrografico è di 7.030 km². L'alimentazione del fiume deriva principalmente dallo scioglimento delle nevi invernali. Il fiume è congelato da fine novembre-inizio dicembre alla seconda metà di marzo.
