geo.wikisort.org - MountainsAbiathar Peak is a mountain peak with an elevation of 10,928 feet (3,331 m) in the northeastern section of Yellowstone National Park, in the Absaroka Range of the U.S. state of Wyoming. The peak was named by members of the 1885 Hague Geological Survey to honor Charles Abiathar White, a geologist and paleontologist who had participated in early western geological surveys. White never visited Yellowstone.[3]

Der Abiathar Peak ist ein Berg im Yellowstone-Nationalpark im US-Bundesstaat Wyoming. Sein Gipfel hat eine Höhe von 3331 m[1]. Er befindet sich im nordöstlichen Teil des Parks, wenige Kilometer südwestlich des Ortes Cooke City, und ist Teil der Absaroka-Bergkette in den Rocky Mountains. Benannt wurde der Gipfel nach Charles Abiathar White, einem Geologen und Paläontologen, der an frühen Untersuchungen des Gebiets teilgenommen hatte[2].
