Verlauf

Er entspringt an der kontinentalen Wasserscheide in den Philip Smith Mountains, einer Gebirgskette in der Brooks Range, fließt südwärts und mündet in die East Fork Chandalar River.

Naturschutz

Der gesamte Flusslauf[2] des Wind Rivers einschließlich eines unbenannten Zuflusses im Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (insgesamt 225 Flusskilometer) wurden 1980 durch den Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act als National Wild and Scenic River ausgewiesen.[3][4]
