Location and features
The Bastyan Dam across the Pieman River was built by the Hydro-Electric Commission in 1983. The dam created a 123,520-megalitre (4,362×10^6 cu ft) reservoir, called Lake Rosebery, with a surface area ranging from 744 hectares (1,840 acres), drawn from a catchment area of 1,397 square kilometres (539 sq mi).[2]
The lake is located near the village of Tullah.
The diverted Emu Bay Railway line and the Wee Georgie Wood Railway line run close to the lake.
