Everett Range is a rugged, mainly ice-covered mountain range nearly 60 miles (97 km) long between Greenwell Glacier and Ebbe Glacier in northwest Victoria Land, Antarctica.[1] Mountains of the range include Mount Regina (2,080 metres (6,820 ft)). These mountains lies situated on the Pennell Coast, a portion of Antarctica lying between Cape Williams and Cape Adare.


Discovery and naming

Everett Range was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from ground surveys and aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in the period 1960–63. It was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Commander William H. Everett, U.S. Navy, Commander of Antarctic Squadron Six (VX-6), 1962–63.[1]

La dorsale Everett è una catena montuosa situata nella regione nord-occidentale della Dipendenza di Ross, nell'entroterra della costa di Pennell, in Antartide. La dorsale Everett, che fa parte delle montagne della Concordia, un gruppo montuoso a sua volta facente parte della catena dei monti Transantartici, è orientata in direzione nord-ovest/sud-est, nella quale si estende per circa 97 km, arrivando a una larghezza massima di circa 25 km, ed è costeggiata, a est dal ghiacciaio Ebbe, che la separa dalle montagne ANARE, e a ovest dal ghiacciaio Greenwell, che la separa dalla dorsale Mirabito, e dal ghiacciaio Lillie, che ne separa l'estremità occidentale dalla dorsale Posey. La vetta più alta della catena è quella del monte Regina, situato all'estremità sud-orientale della catena, che arriva a 2080 m s.l.m..[1]
