Der Ball Peak ist ein 1700 m hoher Berg im ostantarktischen Viktorialand. In der Asgard Range des Transantarktischen Gebirges ragt er am Kopfende des Loftus-Gletschers in einer Entfernung von 1,1 km südwestlich des Mount McLennan in der Umgebung des Mount Hall und des Harris Peak auf.

Das New Zealand Geographic Board benannte ihn 1998 nach dem neuseeländischen Bergsteiger Gary Ball (1953–1993), der unter anderem von 1976 bis 1977 als Überlebenstrainer auf der Scott Base und für die GANOVEX I (1979–1980) tätig war.

Ball Peak is a peak rising to 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) at the head of Loftus Glacier in the Asgard Range, Victoria Land. It stands 0.7 nautical miles (1.3 km) south-west of Mount McLennan in proximity to Mount Hall and Harris Peak, with which this naming is associated. It was named by New Zealand Geographic Board (1998) after Gary Ball, a New Zealand Antarctic Division field guide and instructor in survival training at Scott Base, 1976–77; field guide, northern Victoria Land GANOVEX expedition, 1979–80. Gary Ball died in the Himalayas, 1993.[1]

Le pic Ball est un sommet culminant à 1 700 m d'altitude à la tête du glacier Loftus dans le chaînon Asgard, dans la Terre Victoria. Il se situe à 0,7 km au sud-ouest du mont McLennan, à proximité du mont Hall et du pic Harris, auxquels cette dénomination est associée. Il a été nommé par le New Zealand Geographic Board en 1998 d'après Gary Ball, guide de terrain de la Division antarctique de la Nouvelle-Zélande, instructeur en entraînement à la survie à la base Scott, de 1976 à 1977, et guide de terrain pour l'expédition GANOVEX dans le nord de la terre Victoria, 1979-1980, mort dans l'Himalaya en 1993[1].
