Bearpaw Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming.[2] Bearpaw Lake is south of Trapper Lake and north of Leigh Lake. Bearpaw Lake is an easy to moderate 9.2-mile (14.8 km) (to Trapper Lake, which is somewhat further) round trip hike along the Leigh Lake Trail.[3][4] The trail starts at the String Lake trailhead and wanders north along the east shores of Leigh Lake with a 460 feet (140 m) elevation gain.[3] Bearpaw Lake is nestled at the eastern base of Mount Moran and snow and glacier meltwaters off Skillet Glacier eventually feed into the lake. There are three backcountry camping sites with designated tent pads at the lake and a backcountry permit is required to use these sites.[5]

Der Bearpaw Lake ist ein See im Grand-Teton-Nationalpark im Westen des US-Bundesstaates Wyoming. Der durch Gletscher geformte See ist 0,32 km breit und 0,16 km lang und liegt auf einer Höhe von 2090 m über dem Meeresspiegel.[1] Er liegt östlich des Mount Moran am Fuße der Teton Range im Tal Jackson Hole zwischen dem Leigh Lake im Süden und dem Jackson Lake im Norden. Ein namenloser Bach entwässert sich vom Skillet Glacier am Mount Moran in den nordwestlich des Bearpaw Lake gelegenen Trapper Lake und über den Bearpaw Lake in die Bearpaw Bay des Jackson Lake und weiter in den Snake River.[2] Der Bearpaw Lake kann über einen 14,8 km langen Rundwanderweg erreicht werden, der am String Lake startet und vorbei am Leigh Lake über den Leigh Lake Trail bis zum Bearpaw Lake verläuft.[3]
