La denominazione è stata assegnata dalla New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition, 1961–62, in onore dei loro cani da slitta di razza Husky, con i quali arrivarono fin sulla vetta del monte.[1]

It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition, 1961–62, after their Husky dogs which they drove to the summit of this feature.[1]

Le dôme Husky est le point culminant de la chaîne Bush, à 3 581 mètres d'altitude, dans la chaîne de la Reine-Maud, dans la chaîne Transantarctique. Il est nommé par la New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961-1962) en l'honneur de leurs chiens, qui les menèrent au sommet[1].
