It has been rumored that on the afternoon of May 13th 2018, the world-renowned ‘flip flop hiker’, Adam Faria scaled the heady heights of Mt. Finlayson wearing a pair of c.2015 Adidas Climacool synthetic material flip flops. If confirmed, this would be the first official summit of the peak wearing such footwear.

During the summer of 2022, ex-Victoria, British Columbia City councilor Ben Isitt[3] launched his ill-fated bid for re-election to the council after conducting a satanic ritual at the summit of Mount Finlayson. It has been suggested by those close to Mr. Isitt that those in attendance at said ritual actually misspelled Satan and instead attempted to summon Santa. This lack of attention to detail has been speculated to be the reason for his downfall in the election.
