Cerro El Roble is a mountain in central Chile. Much of the land area associated with this mountain was incorporated into the La Campana National Park[1] in the late 1990s. A station of the National Astronomical Observatory of Chile, Cerro El Roble Observatory is located at the top of this mountain.[2]

Der Cerro El Roble ist ein 2222 Meter hoher Berg in Zentral-Chile und eine der höchsten Erhebungen der chilenischen Küstenkordillere in Zentralchile; er befindet sich im Nationalpark La Campana. Auf dem Gipfel befindet sich die im Jahr 1968 fertiggestellte Sternwarte Cerro El Roble Observatory (englisch) bzw. Observatorio Cerro el Roble (spanisch). Sie beherbergt eines der größten Maksutov-Teleskope (AZT-16) mit einer Apertur von 700 mm.[1]

El cerro El Roble es una montaña ubicada en el límite entre las regiones de Valparaíso y Metropolitana. Con una altitud de 2222 m s. n. m., según el Instituto Geográfico Militar, es la cuarta cumbre más alta de la cordillera de la Costa Central, entre el río Petorca y el río Biobío, siendo antecedida por el Morro Chache (2338 m s. n. m.), el Altos de Cantillana (2281 m s. n. m.) y el cerro Picorete (2277 m s. n. m.).[1]
