Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee benannte ihn 1958 nach David Leslie, Kapitän der Brigg Gleaner aus New Bedford, Massachusetts, zur Robbenjagd auf den Südlichen Shetlandinseln zwischen 1820 und 1821.

Situated 5.33 km north of Mount Bowles, 1.43 km east-northeast of the summit of Gleaner Heights and 3.15 km south-southwest of Radnevo Peak.
