Die Friis Hills sind eine Gruppe von bis zu 1750 m hohen Hügeln im ostantarktischen Viktorialand. Sie erstrecken sich über eine Länge von 10 km an der Nordseite der Biegung des Taylor-Gletschers.

Das Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names benannte sie 1975 nach dem Geographen und Archivar Herman Ralph Friis (1905–1989), Leiter des Center for Polar Archives der den National Archives, der als Austauschwissenschaftler auf der japanischen Station auf der Ost-Ongul-Insel zwischen 1969 und 1970 tätig war und dem Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names von 1957 bis 1973 angehört hatte.

The Friis Hills (.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}77°45′S 161°28′E) are a cluster of ice-free hills, 6 nautical miles (11 km) in extent and rising to 1,750 metres (5,740 ft), on the north side of the bend in Taylor Glacier in Victoria Land, Antarctica. They were named after geographer and archivist Herman Ralph Friis (1906–89), Director of the Center for Polar Archives in the National Archives, a U.S. exchange scientist at the Japanese station East Ongul Island, 1969–70, and a member of the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names, 1957–73.[1]
