Die Erb Range ist ein schroffer und bis zu 2240 m hoher Gebirgszug in der antarktischen Ross Dependency. Er ragt zwischen dem Kosco-Gletscher und dem Shackleton-Gletscher als Teil des Königin-Maud-Gebirges auf und erstreckt sich von den Anderson Heights nach Norden bis zum Mount Speed an der zum Ross-Schelfeis angrenzenden Dufek-Küste.

Luftaufnahmen entstanden bei der United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Der US-amerikanische Geophysiker Albert P. Crary (1911–1997) nahm als Leiter der US-amerikanischen Mannschaft zur Erkundung des Ross-Schelfeises im Zuge des Internationalen Geophysikalischen Jahres (1957–1958) Vermessungen vor. Das Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names benannte den Gebirgszug im Jahr 2008 nach Karl A. Erb, von 1998 bis 2007 Leiter des Polarprogramms der National Science Foundation.[1]

The Erb Range (.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}84°38′00″S 177°36′00″W) is a rugged mountain range rising to 2,240 metres (7,350 ft) between Kosco Glacier and Shackleton Glacier in the Queen Maud Mountains, and extending north from Anderson Heights to Mount Speed on the west side of the Ross Ice Shelf. The range was photographed from aircraft of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition, 1939–41, and surveyed by A.P. Crary, leader of the U.S. Ross Ice Shelf Traverse, 1957–58. Named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in 2008 after Karl A. Erb who played a major role in guiding the United States Antarctic Program as both the NSF Senior Science Advisor in the mid 1990s and subsequently as Director of the Office of Polar Programs from 1998 until 2007 and beyond. During his tenure as the Senior Science Advisor, he helped to guide NSF through the process of justifying and then securing Congressional funding for the redevelopment of the South Pole Station.
