Jaluit es un atolón de 91 islas en el océano Pacífico. Constituye un distrito legislativo de las Islas Marshall. El área total asciende a 11 km², pero encierra una laguna de 690 km². La población, en 1999, ascendía a 1669 habitantes. Y bajo dominio español se llamó Isla de Jesús en honor a la Compañía de Jesús o los jesuitas y su capital era San Ignacio de Jesús. También fue la capital del protectorado alemán en las Islas Marshall.

Jaluit (auch Tschalut, Dschalut oder Talut genannt) ist ein Atoll im Pazifischen Ozean und gehört als Teil der Ralik-Kette (Sonnenuntergangs-Inseln) zur Republik der Marshallinseln. Es liegt bei etwa 6° nördlicher Breite und 169° bis 170° östlicher Länge und hat 1.788 Einwohner (2011).

Jaluit Atoll (Marshallese: Jālwōj, [tʲælʲ(o)wɤtʲ], or Jālooj, [tʲælʲoːtʲ][2]) is a large coral atoll of 91 islands in the Pacific Ocean and forms a legislative district of the Ralik Chain of the Marshall Islands. Its total land area is 11.34 square kilometres (4.38 sq mi), and it encloses a lagoon with an area of 690 square kilometres (270 sq mi). Most of the land area is on the largest islet (motu) of Jaluit (10.4 km²). Jaluit is approximately 220 kilometres (140 mi) southwest of Majuro. Jaluit Atoll is a designated conservation area and Ramsar Wetland.
