Der Mathewson Point ist eine steile und felsige Landspitze an der Nordspitze der Shepard-Insel inmitten des Getz-Schelfeises vor der Hobbs-Küste des westantarktischen Marie-Byrd-Lands. Sie ist Standardort einer Brutkolonie von Adeliepinguinen.

Die Besatzung des Eisbrechers USS Glacier kartierte sie am 4. Februar 1962. Das Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names benannte sie 1962 nach Leutnant David S. Mathewson, Versorgungsoffizier des Schiffs.

Mathewson Point is a steep, rocky point at the northern tip of Shepard Island, which lies on the seaward edge of the Getz Ice Shelf in Marie Byrd Land, Antarctica. The point, the site of an Adélie penguin rookery, was charted by personnel of the USS Glacier on February 4, 1962, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Lieutenant David S. Mathewson, U.S. Navy, then supply officer of the Glacier.[1]
