The Savena (Bolognese: Sèvna) is a river in the Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy. The source of the river is in the province of Florence west of Firenzuola in the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano mountains.[1] The river flows north into the province of Bologna and flows near Monghidoro, Loiano, Pianoro and San Lazzaro di Savena before curving east and flowing into the Idice east of Bologna.[2]

Der Savena ist ein italienisches intermittierendes Fließgewässer (Einzugsgebiet ca. 175 km²), das bei Firenzuola, in der Metropolitanstadt Florenz aus einer breiten, durch viele Berge überragten Schlucht (Sasso di Castro – 1276 m; Monte Bastione 1190 m, Monte Luario 1140 m, Monte Freddi 1275 m) kurz nördlich vom Futapass entspringt; es ist der reichste Nebenfluss des Idice, zu dem es wenigstens 2/3 der Wassermenge beiträgt, besonders im Sommer, der wiederum in den Reno mündet. Der Reno und der Savena grenzen das Gemeindegebiet von Bologna im Norden und im Süden ab.

Il Sàvena (Sèvna in dialetto bolognese) è un corso d'acqua a carattere torrentizio (bacino idrografico di 170 km²) che nasce nel territorio di Firenzuola, in provincia di Firenze, da un anfiteatro di monti (Sasso di Castro a 1276 m s.l.m., monte Bastione 1190 m s.l.m., Monte Luario 1140 m s.l.m., Monte Freddi 1275 m s.l.m.) poco a nord del passo della Futa; è il maggior affluente dell'Idice (al quale reca almeno i 2/3 della portata, specie nella stagione estiva) che confluisce poi nel fiume Reno.
