Der Kupferstrang ist ein Nebenfluss der Innerste in Hildesheim. Ursprünglich war es ein durch Flussspaltung entstandener Arm der Innerste, der 1311 zum nördlichen Befestigungsgraben der Dammstadt wurde und zusammen mit Innerste, Trillke- und Blänkebach die Stadt Hildesheim umschloss.[1]
