Verlauf

Zwar entspringt der Almond bei Shotts in Lanarkshire, doch, nachdem er Harthill passiert hat, führt ihn sein Verlauf größtenteils durch West Lothian. Er durchfließt die Ortschaften Blackburn und Livingston um nahe Ratho den Almond Aqueduct zu unterqueren. Bei Cramond (einem Vorort von Edinburgh) mündet er schließlich in den Firth of Forth, einem Meeresarm der Nordsee.

The River Almond (Scottish Gaelic: Abhainn Amain) is a river in Lothian, Scotland. It is 28 miles (45 km) long, rising at Hirst Hill in Lanarkshire near Shotts, running through West Lothian and draining into the Firth of Forth at Cramond, Edinburgh. The name Almond/Amon is simply old Celtic for "river".[1]
