Il lago Madatapa (in georgiano: მადათაფა?) è un lago nella regione Samtskhe-Javakheti della Georgia sud-orientale, vicino il confine con l'Armenia, a nord del comune di Bavra. Il lago copre un'area di 885 ettari (2 190 acri) ad un'altitudine di 2 108 m (6 916 ft); il lago è noto per la razza Paravan di carpe comuni ed è considerato un sito di produzione di pesca commerciale.[1] Si trova in una delle zone più soggette a terremoti del Caucaso.[2] Il lago, poco profondo, è insieme al lago Khanchali, uno dei più importanti del paese per l'allevamento e la sosta degli uccelli acquatici, compreso il pellicano dalmatico in via di estinzione.[3] Dal 2020 è designato come sito protetto di Ramsar.

Madatapa Lake (Georgian: მადათაფა) is a lake in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of southeastern Georgia, near the border with Armenia, north of Bavra. Covering an area of 885 hectares (2,190 acres) at an elevation of 2,108 m (6,916 ft), the lake is noted for its Paravan race of common carp and has been considered as a commercial fishing production site.[2] It is found in one of the most earthquake-prone areas of the Caucasus.[3] A shallow lake, it, along with Khanchali Lake, is one of the most important in the country for breeding and staging waterbirds, including the endangered Dalmatian pelican.[4] Since 2020 it has been designated as a protected Ramsar site.[1][es] Lago Madatapa
