Le lac Henderson est un lac dans les monts Adirondacks dans la ville de Newcomb du Comté d'Essex dans l'État de New York aux États-Unis. Le lac occupe une ancienne vallée glaciaire de trois kilomètres de long. Il a été nommé en 1826 d'après David Henderson, un des fondateurs de Elba Iron Works près du Lake Placid[1] et de Upper Works à Tahawus[2].

Les cartographes citent principalement le lac comme étant le point de départ officiel du fleuve Hudson, située à l'extrémité est et à la sortie du lac, bien que la source de la rivière soit généralement localisée dans le ruisseau Indian Pass ou d'autres cours d'eau jusqu'au lac Tear of the Clouds.

Henderson Lake is a lake in the Adirondack mountains in the town of Newcomb, Essex County, New York in the United States. It was named in 1826 after David Henderson, one of the founders of the Elba Iron Works near Lake Placid, New York,[2] and of the Upper Works at Tahawus, New York.[3] The lake is mainly cited by cartographers as the place where the Hudson River as named officially begins, flowing out of the eastern end and outlet of the lake.[4][5][6] Unofficially, the source of the river is traced up Indian Pass Brook and other watercourses to Lake Tear of the Clouds.[7]

Il Lago Henderson (Henderson Lake) è un lago sui Monti Adirondack presso la cittadina di Newcomb.
