Brule Lake forms part of the border between the states of Michigan and Wisconsin[2] and is the headwater of the Brule River at 46°02′23″N 88°50′59″W.[3]

The source of the name is the Ojibwa name for the river, Wisakota, meaning burned or burnt, which the French Voyageurs translated as Brûlée.

Brule Lake, (en français : Lac Brûlé), est un lac partagé entre le comté d'Iron situé dans l'État du Michigan et le comté de Forest situé dans l'État du Wisconsin. La plus grande partie de ce lac est situé du côté de l'État du Michigan.
