I picchi rocciosi sono stati mappati dallo United States Geological Survey (USGS) sulla base di rilevazioni e foto aeree scattate dalla U.S. Navy nel periodo 1956-66.

La denominazione è stata assegnata dall'Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in onore di Merced G. Rivas, operatore radio presso la Stazione Ellsworth durante l'inverno 1958.[1]

Die Rivas Peaks sind eine Reihe felsiger Berggipfel im westantarktischen Queen Elizabeth Land. In der Neptune Range der Pensacola Mountains ragen sie in westlicher Richtung über eine Länge von 3 km im südlichen Teil des Torbert Escarpment auf.

Rivas Peaks is a line of rock peaks in Antarctica that jut westward for 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) from the south part of Torbert Escarpment in the Neptune Range, Pensacola Mountains. They were mapped by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos from 1956 to 1966. They were named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Merced G. Rivas, a radioman at Ellsworth Station during the winter of 1958.
