Il picco roccioso è stato mappato dall'United States Geological Survey (USGS) sulla base di rilevazioni e foto aeree scattate dalla U.S. Navy nel periodo 1956-66.

La denominazione è stata assegnata dall'Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in onore di Edward "Buzz" C. Meads, conduttore di mezzi da cantiere presso la Stazione Ellsworth durante l'inverno del 1958.[1]

Meads Peak is a peak, 1,165 metres (3,820 ft) high, standing 0.5 nautical miles (1 km) off the northwest end of Hudson Ridge in the Neptune Range, Pensacola Mountains, Antarctica. It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos from 1956 to 1966, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Edward "Buzz" C. Meads, a construction driver at Ellsworth Station in the winter of 1958.[1]
