Il picco roccioso è stato mappato dall' United States Geological Survey (USGS) sulla base di rilevazioni e foto aeree scattate dalla U.S. Navy nel periodo 1960-63.

La denominazione è stata assegnata dall' Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) in onore di Thomas J. Brewer, della U.S. Navy, commissario di bordo presso la Stazione McMurdo nel 1967.[1]

Der Brewer Peak ist ein 2110 m hoher Berg in den Admiralitätsbergen im ostantarktischen Viktorialand. Er ragt entlang der Westwand des Pitkevitch-Gletschers nahe dessen Kopfende auf.

Brewer Peak (71°34′S 168°28′E) is a peak, 2,110 metres (6,920 ft) high, along the west wall of Pitkevitch Glacier near the glacier's head, in the Admiralty Mountains, a major mountain range of Victoria Land, Antarctica. The topographical feature was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and from U.S. Navy air photos, 1960–63, and named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Thomas J. Brewer, U.S. Navy, Commissaryman at McMurdo Station, Hut Point Peninsula, Ross Island, 1967. The peak lies on the Pennell Coast, a portion of Antarctica lying between Cape Williams and Cape Adare.
