Tatamailau (en tetum: Foho Tatamailau;[1] en portugués: Monte Ramelau o Monte Tatamailau) es la montaña más alta en Timor Oriental y en la isla de Timor con 2963 m (9721 pies). La montaña está situada a unos 70 km (43 millas) de la capital, Dili, en el distrito de Ermera. En la época colonial portuguesa fue considerada la montaña más alta de Portugal, y de hecho, de todo el imperio colonial portugués, ya que la montaña más alta de Portugal tenía una altura más modesta. El nombre de "Tatamailau" es de origen Mambai, una lengua local y significa "abuelo de todos". "Ramelau" es el nombre del macizo donde esta la montaña. El Tatamailau está dedicado a la Virgen María y allí se realiza la peregrinación anual que conmemora la Anunciación de la Bienaventurada Virgen María, alrededor del 25 de marzo. Tatamailau (Tetum: Foho Tatamailau), or Tata Mailau, sometimes referred as Mount Ramelau, is the highest mountain in East Timor and also of Timor island at 2,986 m (9,797 ft). The mountain is located approximately 70 km (43 mi) south of the capital Dili in the district of Ainaro. While East Timor was a Portuguese colony it was called the highest mountain of Portugal in the twentieth century, since the highest mountain of Portugal proper is of a more modest height. The name "Tatamailau" is Mambai-origin, the local language and means "Grandfather of all". "Ramelau" is the name of the massif of the mountain. The Tatamailau is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and the subject of an annual pilgrimage commemorating the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on or around 25 March. There is a three-metre-high statue of the Virgin Mary on the peak, which came from Italy and was erected during Indonesian occupation in 1997.

La montagne se situe approximativement à 70 km au sud de la capitale Dili entre la municipalité d'Ermera et celle d'Ainaro. On peut facilement l'escalader en deux heures et demi à partir de Hatu-Builico (municipalité d'Ainaro).
