Er ist der höchste Berg der übergeordneten Sektion Luganer Voralpen nach SOIUSA-Klassifizierung. Er befindet sich nicht weit vom westlichsten Ausläufer des Comer See, zwischen dem Valle Albano und dem Val Cavargna. Gino wird auch die zugehörige Gebirgskette genannt.
