Peinado is a stratovolcano in Argentina, which has likely erupted within the past 12,000 years. It has young, well preserved lava flows from the summit and flank vents, which extend up to 10 km from the summit.[1] Radiometric dating has yielded an age of 42,000 ± 7,000 years before present.[2]

Le Peinado, encore appelé cerro Peinado, est un stratovolcan actif d'Argentine. Il est situé dans la Puna de la province de Catamarca. Son cône volcanique presque parfait, fait de lui, avec le Lanín beaucoup moins élevé, un des plus beaux exemplaires parmi les nombreux volcans argentins.
