Monte Bo (or Cima di Bo[3]) is a mountain in the Alpi Biellesi, a sub-range of Pennine Alps.

Geography


The mountain is located between Sessera and Cervo valleys and is totally included in the province of Biella. It is divided between the comune of Piedicavallo and the mountain exclaves of Pettinengo, Tavigliano and Valle San Nicolao.

According to the SOIUSA (International Standardized Mountain Subdivision of the Alps) the mountain can be classified in the following way:[4]

With an elevation of 2,556 m it's the second highest peak of the Province of Biella after Monte Mars (2,600 m).


Access to the summit

The easiest route for the summit is a long but well marked footpath starting from Montesinaro, a village belonging to Piedicavallo township. Nearby the mountain's top is located Bivacco Antoniotti, an emergency mountain shelter.

Le mont Bo (2 556 m) est un sommet des Alpes pennines. Il se trouve à cheval sur la province de Biella et celle de Verceil le long de la ligne de partage des eaux entre la vallée Sessera et la vallée Cervo et à courte distance de la Valsesia proprement dite. Ce sommet est située sur les communes de Piedicavallo, de Pettinengo, Tavigliano et Valle San Nicolao.

Il monte Bo o cima di Bo (mont Bò in piemontese[1]) è una vetta di 2.556 m s.l.m. appartenente alle Alpi Biellesi, la seconda in altezza nel Biellese dopo il Monte Mars. Si trova in provincia di Biella (BI) lungo lo spartiacque tra la Valle Sessera e la Valle Cervo ed a breve distanza dalla Valsesia propriamente detta (VC). Interessa il comune di Piedicavallo e le isole amministrative montane dei comuni di Pettinengo, Tavigliano e Valle San Nicolao.
