Mizri Ghar at 3,111 metres (10,207 ft) is the third highest mountain in the Sulaiman Mountains of Western Pakistan. The only peaks higher are Qaisaghar (Kaisargarh) at 3,444 metres (11,299 ft) and Takht-i-Sulaiman at 3,378 metres (11,083 ft). Mizri Ghar is located in Sub-Tehsil Zimri Palaseen of District Musakhail, Balochistan. In summer, Mizri Ghar receives a high amount of rainfall while in winter season it receives a considerable amount of snowfall, sometimes 4 to 5 ft. Its climate is very cool even in summer and its temperature is comparable to Naran, Kaghan, and Murree. This climate uniqueness of Mizri Ghar makes it one of the coldest tourist points in Baluchistan and makes it attractive for the tourists of the adjoining areas such as Zhob, Loralai, D I Khan, DG Khan, and even Multan.

Greenery and Wildlife

Mizri Ghar and the surrounding peaks, are predominantly covered with vegetation. The vegetation includes Chilgoza Pine, Wild Olive, and other shrubs and grasses. It has green lush valleys on its top. The top area is about 30 km long and 2 to 3 km wide. Chilghoza Pine is one of the sources of livelihood of locals in Zimri Palaseen.

A few decades ago, Mizri Ghar was full of wildlife such as Suleman Markhor, Common leopard, fox, wolf, Asiatic steppe wild cat, and Hyaena. There were herds of Suleman Markhor in these mountains but due to poaching, these animals are depleting very quickly nowadays.

The local social activists have repeatedly requested the Government and international organizations working for wildlife to help in saving these animals from extinction. They have also requested to declare the top of the Mizri Ghar as "Wild Sanctuary or National Park for Wildlife". This will help in providing a safe environment for these animals which will result in growing the number of these wildlife. When the number of these Markhor is increased, then Trophy Hunting may be started like in Gilgit Baltistan. This will attract local and international tourism and will boost the local economy.

Tourism

Mizri Ghar remained hidden from tourists for a long time due to the unavailability of proper roads. A few tourists from Taunsa and Dera Ghazi Khan went to the top of Mizri Ghar in 2011.

From 2020, groups of tourists have started visiting the Mizri Ghar area. A famous tourist and vlogger, Saifullah Khan Marwat, visited Mizri Ghar in the summer season and made a detailed Vlog[2] on the area. The vlog is in two parts. The vlog discussed the historical importance of the area, the native people, climate, flora and fauna, terrain, culture, and the easiest route to Mizri Ghar from the northern side of Pakistan.

Since then, many tourist groups from adjoining areas have visited Mizri Ghar and enjoyed its pleasant weather and greenery of the area. Besides the Mizri Ghar, the people are now also visiting the western side of Mizri Ghar called Zimri Palaseen. Zimri Palaseen is also a beautiful valley full of olive jungles, clean crystal springs, and waterfalls. The locals are very hospitable people. They accept the tourists with open hearts and are happy with the increase in tourism in the area.

Accessibility

Mizri Ghar Top can be accessed by two routes. one from the west side and the other from the east side.

A) The western route is through N-50 (Zhob-DI Khan Road-CPEC Western Route). This route is a good option for tourists coming from the Northern side of Pakistan and the Zhob Area. A local road offtakes from N-50 near Dhana Sar to Shadi Neka (A tomb of a saint). From Shadi Neka there are two routes to the peak of Mizri Ghar.

B) The eastern route is from Zimri Palaseen. It is the shortest route for tourists coming from Punjab and Sindh provinces. The tourists can choose the Taunsa-Vehowa-Zimri Palaseen route or the Mughalkot-Zimri Palaseen Route for Zimri Palaseen. It is also an easy route. There are a lot of populated areas along this route. These population points provide a rest place and food points for tourists. Tourists with the help of a local guide can easily go to the top of Mizri Gahr.

Note: It is compulsory to hire a local guide while visiting Mizri Ghar for a smooth and comfortable journey. A local guide is necessary for both of the routes. The local guide not only helps in travel guidance but also helps in getting comfortable accommodations and food.
