geo.wikisort.org - MountainsKing Range is a mountain range, 22 km (14 mi) long and 8 km (5 mi) wide, in northwestern Victoria Land, Antarctica. The range is bounded on the west by Rawle Glacier and Leitch Massif, on the northwest by Black Glacier and on the NE and east by the head of Lillie Glacier. The range forms part of the Concord Mountains.

The range was mapped by the USGS from surveys and U.S. Navy aerial photographs, 1960–63. Named by US-ACAN for Cdr. James P. King, USN, staff meteorological officer on Deep Freeze operations, 1962–64.

Die King Range ist ein Gebirgszug von etwa 22 km Länge und etwa 8 km Breite in den Concord Mountains im Nordwesten des ostantarktischen Viktorialands. Im Westen grenzt sie an den Rawle-Gletscher und das Leitch-Massiv, im Nordwesten an den Black-Gletscher und im Nordosten sowie im Osten an das Entstehungsgebiet des Lillie-Gletschers.

La dorsale King è una catena montuosa situata nella regione nord-occidentale della Dipendenza di Ross, nell'entroterra della costa di Pennell, in Antartide. La dorsale King, che fa parte delle montagne della Concordia, un gruppo montuoso a sua volta facente parte della catena dei monti Transantartici, è orientata in direzione nord-ovest/sud-est, nella quale si estende per circa 35 km, arrivando a una larghezza massima di circa 15 km, ed è costeggiata, a est dal ghiacciaio Lillie, che la separa dalla dorsale Mirabito, e a ovest dal ghiacciaio Rawle, che la separa dal massiccio Leitch, e dal ghiacciaio Black, che ne separa l'estremità occidentale dalle montagne di Bowers. La vetta più alta della catena è quella del monte Gawn, che arriva a 2190 m s.l.m..[1]
