Crystal Mountains (Monts de Cristal) is a group of low mountains (or hills, as all peaks are below 1,000m) inland of the Atlantic coast of Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Angola. It is the edge of the interior Woleu-Ntem Plateau against the coastal lowland which has a steep descent deeply cut by streams and waterfalls.[1]

Part of the area is preserved in Gabon as the Crystal Mountains National Park. Mont Mbilan is the highest point (about 925m) in the park. Seni Mont (611m) receives the highest rainfall in all of Gabon (350 cm/year).[2]

Fauna

Two species of frogs, Leptopelis crystallinoron and Leptodactylodon stevarti, are only known from the Crystal Mountains.[3][4]

Les monts de Cristal sont une chaîne de montagnes qui s'étend de la Guinée équatoriale, au nord, à l'Angola, au sud, en passant par le Gabon, la République du Congo et la République démocratique du Congo. Ils sont parallèles à l'océan Atlantique, culminent à 1 050 mètres d'altitude[1] et séparent la plaine côtière des plateaux et plaines de l'intérieur des terres. Les monts de Cristal sont traversés par de nombreux fleuves dont le Congo et l'Ogooué.

Хрустальные горы — цепь низких гор на западе центральной Африки. Проходят параллельно Атлантическому побережью и располагаются на территории Габона и Экваториальной Гвинеи между реками Огове на юге и Кампо на севере. Хрустальные горы относят к западному краю Южно-Гвинейской возвышенности. Средние высоты 600—800 метров. Высшая точка — гора Дана (1050 м). Горы сложены докембрийскими кристаллическими породами. Склоны покрыты влажными вечнозелёными экваториальными лесами.
