Bolgar Buttress (Bulgarian: рид Болгар, ‘Rid Bolgar’ \'rid 'bol-gar\) is the ice-covered buttress rising to 1688 m[1] on the southeast side of Detroit Plateau on Nordenskjöld Coast in Graham Land, Antarctica, situated between the upper courses of Pyke and Albone Glaciers. It has steep and partly ice free west, south and east slopes.

The feature is named after the medieval city of Bolgar, capital of Volga Bulgaria in 8-15th century AD.

Location

Bolgar Buttress is located at 64°11′40.5″S 59°41′58.3″W, which is 3.77 km west of Zasele Peak, 14.4 km north by west of Dolen Peak, 6.4 km northeast of Kopriva Peak and 26.7 km south-southeast of Volov Peak on Davis Coast.

An der Südostseite des Detroit-Plateaus ragt er 4,1 km südwestlich des Zasele Peak, 12,15 km nördlich bis westlich des Dolen Peak, 5,15 km nordöstlich des Kopriva Peak und 27,95 km südsüdöstlich des Volov Peak zwischen den oberen Abschnitten des Pyke- und des Albone-Gletschers auf. Seine West-, Süd- und Osthänge sind steil und teilweise unvereist.
