Der Poynter Hill ist ein markanter und 825 m (nach britischen Angaben 950 m) hoher Hügel im Norden des Grahamlands auf der Antarktischen Halbinsel. Auf der Westseite der Trinity-Halbinsel ragt er 13 km ostsüdöstlich des Kap Kjellman auf.

Der Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey kartierte ihn im Jahr 1948. Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee benannte ihn 1950 nach Charles Wittit Poynter (1797–1878), Master’s mate auf der Brigg Williams unter Edward Bransfield zur Erkundung der Südlichen Shetlandinseln und der Bransfieldstraße.

Poynter Hill is a conspicuous hill, height 825 metres (2,707 ft), standing 8 nautical miles (15 km) east-southeast of Cape Kjellman on the west side of Trinity Peninsula. Charted in 1948 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey, it was named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1950 after Charles William Poynter, master's mate, who accompanied Edward Bransfield on the brig Williams in January 1820 when explorations were made in the South Shetland Islands and Bransfield Strait. Poynter Hill is separated from nearby Ivory Pinnacles by the 700-metre pass Poynter Col, which derived its name from that of the hill.[1]
