Mount Axtell ist ein niedriger, dennoch erkennbarer Berggipfel im westantarktischen Ellsworthland. Er ragt 2,5 km südöstlich des Mount Tidd in den Pirrit Hills aus dem umgebenden antarktischen Kontinentaleis auf.

Seine Position wurde am 7. Dezember 1958 von der US-amerikanischen Ellsworth-Byrd Traverse Party bestimmt und er nach William R. Axtell Jr. (1924–1974) benannt, Koch auf der Ellsworth-Station und Mitglied dieser Mannschaft.

Mount Axtell is a low but distinctive rock peak 1.5 nautical miles (2.8 km; 1.7 mi) southeast of Mount Tidd in the Pirrit Hills, Ellsworth Land, Antarctica.[1] It was positioned by the U.S. Ellsworth–Byrd Traverse Party, December 7, 1958, and named for William R. Axtell, Jr., U.S. Navy, cook at Ellsworth Station in 1958 who volunteered to accompany the traverse party.[2]
