Situata nella contea di Galway, in Irlanda, e più precisamente nei pressi di Claddaghduff, villaggio del Connemara, l'isola è vicinissima, come del resto tante altre isolette della zona, alla costa irlandese e nei momenti di bassa marea, il fondale dell'oceano può essere percorso anche in macchina (sono presenti anche dei segnali stradali che durante l'alta marea vengono sommersi per metà).

Omey Island (irisch Iomaí) ist eine beinahe quadratische Gezeiteninsel mit einem See in der Mitte. Sie liegt in der Nähe von Clifden und High Island, im Westen von Connemara im County Galway, in Irland. Bei Niedrigwasser ist es möglich auf einem markierten Weg über einen breiten Sandstrand auf die Insel zu gelangen.

Omey Island (Irish: Iomaidh) is a tidal island situated near Claddaghduff on the western edge of Connemara in County Galway, Ireland. From the mainland the island is almost hidden. It is possible to drive or walk across a large sandy strand to the island by following the arrowed signs. At high tide, the water is deep enough to cover a car.

Omey Island ( en irlandais : Iomaidh ) est une île de marée située près de Claddaghduff, à l’ouest du Connemara, dans le comté de Galway en Irlande. Depuis le continent, l'île, presque cachée, pourrait passer inaperçue. Il est possible d'y accéder en voiture ou à pied en suivant une grande bande de sable signalée par des flèches.
