Le isole Gambier (in francese: Îles Gambier o Archipel des Gambier) sono un piccolo gruppo di isole della Polinesia francese, localizzate a sud-est dell'arcipelago delle isole Tuamotu.

Sono generalmente considerato un arcipelago separato dal gruppo delle Tuamotu sia per la loro cultura e lingua (lingua mangareva), sia perché più strettamente correlate alle Isole Marchesi da un punto di vista morfologico. Mentre le Tuamotu comprende diversi atolli corallini, le Gambier, in particolare Mangareva, sono di origine vulcanica. A causa della sua vicinanza, l'atollo delle Temoe è talvolta incluso tra le Gambier.

Die Gambierinseln (anderer Name Mangarevainseln, französisch Îles Gambier) sind ein 43 Inseln umfassender Archipel östlich des 140. Längengrades im Südpazifik, etwa 1800 Kilometer südöstlich von Tahiti. Geographisch gehören die Gambierinseln zum Tuamotu-Archipel, politisch zu Französisch-Polynesien.

The Gambier Islands (French: Îles Gambier or Archipel des Gambier) are an archipelago in French Polynesia, located at the southeast terminus of the Tuamotu archipelago. They cover an area of 27.8 km2 or 10.7 sq mi,[1][2] and are made up of the Mangareva Islands, a group of high islands remnants of a caldera along with islets on the surrounding fringing reef, and the uninhabited Temoe atoll, which is located 45 km (28 mi) south-east of the Mangareva Islands. The Gambiers are generally considered a separate island group from Tuamotu both because their culture and language (Mangarevan) are much more closely related to those of the Marquesas Islands, and because, while the Tuamotus comprise several chains of coral atolls, the Mangareva Islands are of volcanic origin with central high islands.
