Géographie

Gröde est, avec une dizaine d'habitants, une des plus petites communes autonomes d'Allemagne et elle est la troisième plus grande des îles Halligen. Les localités de l'île sont construites sur deux collines artificielles, les Warften. Sur la Knudtswarft vivent 6 familles dans 4 maisons et sur la Kirchwarft se trouve une église avec un autel datant de 1592, une école et un appartement d'instituteur.

Die Hallig Gröde (dänisch Grøde, nordfriesisch di Grööe; auch: Gröde-Appelland, niederdeutsch Grööd) ist eine der zehn Halligen in Nordfriesland im Nationalpark Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer. Sie besteht aus der nicht mehr bewohnten ehemaligen Hallig Appelland (dänisch Abelland, nordfriesisch Åpellöön bzw. Aapellöön) im Norden und der bewohnten Hallig Gröde im Süden, die um 1900 bei Küstenschutzmaßnahmen miteinander verbunden wurden.

Gröde (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁøːdə] (listen); Danish: Grøde, North Frisian Groue) is a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With only 7 inhabitants, the municipality, which is coterminous with the hallig it is situated on (Hallig Gröde), has the smallest population of any municipality in Germany. The inhabitants of the island make a living from tourism and limited agriculture. Gröde forms the smallest electoral district in the country, with the tally reported practically immediately after polls close.
