Ichaboe est une île de 6,5 hectares située à 48 km au nord de Lüderitz et à 1,5 km de la côte namibienne[1]. Elle a été découverte en 1828 par le capitaine néerlandais Benjamin Morrell.

L'île a été exploitée pour son guano dans les années 1840 pour la première fois[2]. En trois ans, ses gisements, d'une masse de 300 000 tonnes, furent complètement extraits[3]. Au XXI^e siècle, elle abrite un important contingent d'oiseaux et du guano en est extrait sporadiquement[4].

Ichaboe Island, frühere deutsche Bezeichnung Itschabo-Insel,[1] bildet zusammen mit Little Ichaboe Island eine kleine vegetationslose Felseninselgruppe 48 Kilometer nördlich der Lüderitzbucht in Namibia. Sie gehört zu den Penguin Islands. Die Insel ist Teil des Meob-Chamais Meeresschutzgebietes.

Остров Ичабо (англ. Ichaboe Island) — остров площадью 6,5 га в бухте Людериц в Намибии. Расположен в 1,5 км от берега, в 48 км от порта Людериц. На острове гнездится большая колония морских птиц. В XIX веке на острове велась масштабная добыча гуано; гуано и сейчас регулярно вывозится с острова по мере его накопления. С 1994 года остров принадлежит Намибии.
