Limnos (neugriechisch Λήμνος (f. sg.), in der Antike altgriechisch Λῆμνος Lemnos) ist eine griechische Insel in der Nord-Ägäis. Seit 2011 bildet die Insel die Gemeinde Limnos (Δήμος Λήμνου) und gemeinsam mit Agios Efstratios den Regionalbezirk Limnos in der Region Nördliche Ägäis. Nach der Volkszählung von 2011 zählt die Insel 16.992 Bewohner. Verwaltungssitz sowie wirtschaftliches und kulturelles Zentrum der Insel ist die mehr als 5000 Einwohner zählende Stadt Myrina.

Lemnos or Limnos (Greek: Λήμνος; Ancient Greek: Λῆμνος) is a Greek island in the northern Aegean Sea. Administratively the island forms a separate municipality within the Lemnos regional unit, which is part of the North Aegean region. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Myrina.[2] At 477.583 square kilometres (184.396 sq mi),[3] it is the 8th-largest island of Greece.

Lemnos ou Límnos (en grec ancien : Λῆμνος, en grec moderne : Λήμνος) est une île grecque du nord-est de la mer Égée, située entre la péninsule du mont Athos à l'ouest, les îles de Thasos et Samothrace au nord, les îles turques de Imbros (Gökçeada) et Ténédos (Bozcaada) à l'est, Lesbos au sud-est, Ágios Efstrátios et les Sporades au sud-ouest. Elle forme un dème (municipalité) et un district régional de la périphérie d'Égée-Septentrionale. Avant la réforme Kallikratis (2010), elle était rattachée au nome de Lesbos.

Lemno[1] (in greco: Λήμνος, traslitterato: Limnos) è un'isola greca localizzata nella parte settentrionale del Mar Egeo. Ha un'estensione di 476 km², e ha 17 000 abitanti. È in gran parte collinosa con qualche fertile valletta. Il centro più importante è Mirina sulla costa occidentale con un ottimo porto naturale. Un centro di minore importanza è Mudro. L'isola è un'importante base militare in virtù della sua posizione poco lontana dagli stretti del mar di Marmara.
