Kwana Island (Dutch: Kwana Eiland[1]) is the name of an island in the southwestern part of Brokopondo Lake or Brokopondo Reservoir (Brokopondostuwmeer, also formerly known as Blommestein Lake or B. reservoir) in the District of Brokopondo[2] (Brokopondo-district) the second largest in the nation located east of their territory. The name "Kwana" is derived from a local fish species, has palm trees, some tourist cabins and white sand beaches, is also frequented by fishermen. The island has become a holiday resort.[3]

Kwana Eiland (auch Kwana Island) ist eine Insel im südwestlichen Teil des Brokopondo-Stausees (Brokopondostuwmeer) im Distrikt Brokopondo von Suriname. Die Insel entstand erst durch das Anstauen des Sees. Heute trägt sie ein Holiday Resort mit Touristen-Bungalows und verfügt über Palmen und weiße Sandstrände. Der Name „Kwana“ bezieht sich auf eine Fischart, die dort vorkommt. Gelegentlich besuchen daher auch Fischer die Insel.
