Heap Island ist eine Insel vor der Westküste der Antarktischen Halbinsel. Im Archipel der Biscoe-Inseln liegt sie zwischen dem Jurva Point und Bates Island vor der südöstlichen Küste der Renaud-Insel.

Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee benannte sie 1985 nach dem britischen Polarforscher John Arnfield Heap (1932–2006), der als Experte für Meereis zwischen 1955 und 1962 für den Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey tätig war, von 1956 bis 1957 an der Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955–1958) teilgenommen hatte und von 1992 bis 1997 das Scott Polar Research Institute leitete.

Heap Island (.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}65°50′S 65°43′W) is an island off the southeast coast of Renaud Island in the Biscoe Islands of the Graham Coast of Antarctica, between Jurva Point and Bates Island. In association with the names of sea-ice specialists grouped in this area, it was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1985 after John A. Heap, a sea-ice specialist with the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS), 1955–62, who worked in the Antarctic with FIDS, 1955–56, with the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition, 1956–57, and with the United States Antarctic Research Program, 1962–63. He was later head of the Polar Regions Section at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and a member of the UK-APC from 1976.[1]
