Carstens Shoal ist eine nahezu kreisrunde Untiefe der Küste des ostantarktischen Mac-Robertson-Lands. In der Holme Bay liegt sie unmittelbar nördlich von East Budd Island. Sie liegt mindestens 11,89 m unter dem Meeresspiegel.

Entdeckt wurde sie 1961 vom hydrografischen Vermessungsingenieur d’Arcy Thomas Gale (* 1911) im Rahmen der Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions an Bord des Schiffes Thala Dan. Das Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) benannte sie nach David Robert Carstens (* 1934), Teilnehmer an den hydrografischen Vermessungen der Untiefe und Geodät auf der Mawson-Station im Jahr 1962.

Carstens Shoal (.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}67°34′S 62°51′E) is an almost circular shoal (least depth 11.89 metres (39 ft)) lying just north of East Budd Island, and just west of Moller Bank, in Holme Bay, Mac. Robertson Land. It was charted in February 1961 by d'A.T. Gale, hydrographic surveyor with the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (Thala Dan), and named by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia for D.R. Carstens, surveyor at Mawson Station in 1962, who assisted the hydrographic survey in 1961.
