Mount Lassell ist ein verschneiter und rund 1000 m hoher Berg im Südosten der westantarktischen Alexander-I.-Insel. Er ragt oberhalb des Kopfendes des Neptun-Gletschers auf.

Der US-amerikanische Polarforscher Lincoln Ellsworth fertige am 23. November 1935 die ersten Luftaufnahmen an, die dem US-amerikanischen Kartografen W. L. G. Joerg für eine grobe Kartierung dienten. Eine detaillierte Kartierung nahm der britische Geograph Derek Searle vom Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey 1960 anhand von Luftaufnahmen der US-amerikanischen Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) vor. Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee benannte den Berg 1961 nach dem britischen Astronomen William Lassell (1799–1880), der die Uranusmonde Umbriel und Ariel sowie den Neptunmond Triton entdeckt hatte.

Mount Lassell (.mw-parser-output .geo-default,.mw-parser-output .geo-dms,.mw-parser-output .geo-dec{display:inline}.mw-parser-output .geo-nondefault,.mw-parser-output .geo-multi-punct{display:none}.mw-parser-output .longitude,.mw-parser-output .latitude{white-space:nowrap}71°45′S 68°50′W) is a snow-covered peak, 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) high, overlooking the head of Neptune Glacier in the southeast part of Alexander Island, Antarctica. The peak appears to have been first sighted from the air by Lincoln Ellsworth on November 23, 1935, and roughly mapped from photos obtained on that flight by W.L.G. Joerg. It was remapped from air photos taken by the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition, 1947–48, by D. Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1960. The peak was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee for William Lassell, an English astronomer who discovered Umbriel and Ariel, satellites of the planet Uranus, and the satellite Triton, orbiting the planet Neptune.[1]
