Absyrtides or Apsyrtides or Apsirtides (Ancient Greek: Ἀψυρτίδες; Italian: Arcipelago delle Absirtidi) was a collective name of two islands off the coast of Illyricum – Cres (Cherso in Italian) and Lošinj (Lussino in Italian), which were almost attached.

The named after Absyrtus, who according to one tradition, was slain here by his sister Medea and by Jason,[1] while according to another story because his dead body was drawn by the waves to the islands.[2]

Ptolemy mentions only one island, Apsorrus (Ἄψορρος), on which he places two towns Crepsa (Κρέψα) (the modern Cres) and Apsorrus (the modern Osor, now all in Croatia).

Les Absyrtides sont un archipel de la mer Adriatique sous souveraineté croate. Regroupant notamment Cres et Lošinj, elles tirent leur nom de certaines versions de la légende d'Absyrte, frère de Médée dont le cadavre aurait été démembré dans les environs[1], donnant naissance aux îles.

Absirtidi (in greco antico: Ἀψυρτίδες) era un nome collettivo di due isole al largo della costa dell'Illiria (Cherso e Lussino), quasi attaccate. Il nome ricorda Absyrtus, che secondo una tradizione, qui fu ucciso dalla sorella Medea e da Giasone. Tolomeo menziona solo un'isola, Apsorrus (Ἄψορρος), sulla quale colloca due città Crepsa (Κρέψα) (l'odierna Cherso) e Apsorrus (l'odierna Ossero, ora tutte in Croazia).
